County records indicate that the first church was established sometime between 1850 and 1860 at Buladean. The original church was named Spring Creek Free Will Baptist Church and later on took on the name Middle District Free Will Baptist Church.
At the establishment of the church the Buladean Community was known as Magnetic City. Records indicate that Rev. Nathan Honeycutt was one of the earliest pastors on record. Early church records reveal that some of the church members were in the Civil War. Sometime around the late 1800's the Church moved down the road about a mile on 226 North and was renamed Bennett's Church. Church Records show that Rev. Sam Street and Rev. Garrett Hopson were two of the pastors at this location.
In 1911 the church was moved on down to its current location known then as the Middle District Community. Rev. Moore Howell and Rev. Garrett Hopson were the two pastors on record. There was a school in front of the church. Some of the older members recall attending the school while the church was being built. Three of the first deacons that were appointed were Wilson Street, Lem Frye and Glenn Frances. At this time the church was renamed Middle District Freewill Baptist Church.
The current church building was constructed in 1955. Rev. James Arrowood was elected as pastor. On August 22, 1963 the church joined the Jacks Creek Association. In 1976 a basement was constructed underneath the church and in 1980 a Fellowship Hall building was constructed on the property. The church was given the opportunity to purchase additional land that joined the property from Joe Clem in 1998. With the purchase of the additional land the church was able to build a new access road and additional parking lot. In 2001 an additional 3 classrooms, 2 restrooms and a Church office was constructed onto the north side of the church.
